Penisa'r Mynydd Caravaning & Camping Park is ideally located within the Clwydian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). This is an area that offers wonderful opportunities for those of you who enjoy a good walk. The caravan park is uniquely positioned in that 3 major long distance paths are within easy reach of the park, namely :
Below are three walks of differing distances and durations that can be taken direct from the caravan park. For each walk, there is a PDF map that can be downloaded and printed (see below). Alternatively full colour free maps are available from the caravan park.
WALK 1 - A short circular walk (duration 30 mins) taking in pretty country lanes and meadows. Ideal just before or after a meal, or when the dog is driving you crazy!. (Please keep dogs on leads as sheep are present in the local fields).

WALK 2 - A longer circular walk (duration 1 hour, 15 minutes) that visits the local Mynydd-y-Cwm woods and then returns via part of Offa's Dyke path to the caravan park.

WALK 3 - A long linear walk (duration 2 hours) that follows Offa's Dyke to the nearest major town of Prestatyn with all the local shops, pubs, and amenities. This walk offers spectacular views (weather permitting) of the North Wales coast. The idea is that you can do this walk to Prestatyn, do a bit of shopping, possibly a drink in a local pub, then return to the caravan park by taxi (taxi rank at the bottom of the High Street).
